Work Experience

Chambermaid- Blue Bird Motel (07/01/2007 – 04/11/2008)

This experience can be related to scraping and sweeping floors at job-sites when I worked with my father, who is a drywaller. Janitorial work can be related to any thing that has to do with cleaning. I know that working as a chambermaid; it is important to keep the customer happy and comfortable so that he or she will want to keep coming back.

Last Employer: Dee Coburn

Contact Person: (250) 753-4151

Responsibilities: I was responsible for all the aspects of cleaning rooms; sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, changing bedding, sanitizing bathroom toilets and tubs, as well as bringing towels to rooms etc. Customer service was not taken lightly. It was my duty to make sure that the rooms I cleaned were perfect and that the customers were satisfied. I also helped with inventory; making sure we had enough of all bath products and coffee products to last the week, especially in the busiest of times.

Accomplishments: I learned how to deal with stress and the importance of team work.

Cashier/ Propane Attendant/ Tobacco/ Inventory - Millway Market Esso Station (07/17/2008 – 03/19/2010)

This job can also relate to my previous job as a maid because both jobs you have to learn how to deal with the general public. Every person has a certain level of expectations and as a server of the public you need to know how to meet them.

During my time off, I enjoy jogging. I usually run every day for over an hour to help keep a healthy body image for myself. I love sports like basketball, soccer, football and any sport that keeps me moving. Physical Activity is very important to me.  Not only do I want to keep fit but I also enjoy making it a routine.

Cooking is something I truly enjoy. I love to create food experiences for others!  Healthy eating is very important to me and something I do not take lightly.

I enjoy reading and writing.

As for any artisitc qualities, sometimes I volunteer my time with people who have mental illnesses.  I feel that "Open minds open windows" (which was what the art therapy program was called) taught me patience and understanding of people with mental illness.  I have helped give people different ideas about art and how to think outside the box.

I am interested in one day becoming a fitness trainer because living a healthy lifestyle is vital to me; and I enjoy being active in the outdoors!
