Objective

I currently have a challenging position within the educational system that requires extensive knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.  The  position involves a variety tasks, including assessment, programming and consulation with teachers and educational assistants who work with children with autism, aspergers as well as PDD-NOS.  As the team Speech-Language Pathologist I am responsible for the assessment and programming for all functional communication.

Responsibilities: Graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology; intern within the on-site University Clinic for Communicationa and Associated Disorders. Provided assessment, diagnosis and therapy for adults and children with a variety of communication disorders, including but not limited to individuals with autism, aphasia, dysarthria, speech and language delay and sensory integration disorder.

Responsibilities: Worked in two residential group homes for children with special needs. Provided basic care and programming in a group home for teenage boys with Autism as well as in a home for teenage girls with complex needs.

Responsibilities: Counsellor at a residential summer facility for adults and children with developmental challenges. Additional Information

I currently work as a Clinical Educator for Graduate Students of Speech-Language Pathology. Students come to our site for clinical internships and are provided with a clinical education that focuses on the assessment and programming for students with Autism, Asperger's syndrome as well as PDD-NOS. As a supervisor I am responsible for the clinical education of the aforementioned students.

Research Projects: Currently involved in a project that aims to teach student on the Autism Spectrum to use personal devices such as the itouch and iphone for scheduling, communication and support in the community.
