objective
I was fortunate enough to have been born on a farm and have been surrounded by hard working, strong willed men and women all my life.
Through the generations my family has gained the knowledge and skill to deal with horses properly and are noted horseman in our community. I believe this has rubbed off onto me as well.
When working on a farm or in the labour intensive log building business, a hard work ethic is necessary to be successful. I believe that I have acquired this hard working attitude and can apply it to all aspects of my life.
My family has been in the outfitting business for three generations. Having helped guide elk and guided mule deer, white tail and moos solo I feel I have the knowledge and hunting abilities to be an asset to any hunting expedition.
Work Experience
Wrangler/Apprentice guide (07/05/2009 – 08/27/2009)
Last Employer: Simpson Stone Sheep Ltd.
Contact Person: Frank Simpson
Responsibilities: This job was my second summer wrangling horses for an outfitter other than my father. Other than being a camp jack, (chopping wood, fixing and oiling tack, repairing corrals etc.) I was one half of a pack crew, tying diamonds on our string before trailing them. When in hunting camp, my responsibilities were to wake up at four in the morning, wrangle the horses, grain, saddle and check for sores and bug dope the horses, then make breakfast. when the breakfast was nearly complete, wake the hunter. I would ride with the guide and hunter to the jump off point, where if necessary, I would carry the pack for the hunter on the day's hike. In the event of hunt success, my pack would be loaded up and I would participate in carrying the animal off the mountain. When back at camp, turn the horses loose and prepare supper. After the dishes were washed, hit the bed.
Accomplishments: I was on my first sheep kills at this job, and learned a lot about watching thermals on the mountain from the guide Luke Seminoff.
