Interests
My two favorite activities are traveling and cooking. Both offer a chance for me to try new things and learn a great deal about the world. When traveling, I prefer to stay in one place for a long period of time, often about a year. I believe this is the only way to really get to know the place. If you only spend a few days in a given place, then you only experience the tourist side of the city. However, if you work and live somewhere, you get to see a side of the region that only the locals and a lucky few are able to see.
I find cooking to be both relaxing and rewarding. It's fun to try to break the code of recreating something I've eaten while traveling, or even to invent something new with the ingredients that are available to me. While I'm by no means the best cook, I enjoy sharing a successful attempt at cooking with close friends.
