Responsibilities: My duties in this position include but are not limited to; Billing for Physical / Occupational Therapy Including inputting charges and submitting claims to insurance companies in both paper or electronic form as needed. Run billing reports, insuring accounts are billed properly. Preparing aging reports, this keeps track of the claims age. From this report insurance companies are contacted with regards to the status of the claims, resolving issues as they arise. Contacting patients is also a part of the duties; This is done in letter form, as well as personal contact through phone calls. Payment schedules are established if possible. Some patients accounts do have to be sent to a collections agency. Posting of payments to patient accounts in a timely manner. Medicare Direct Data Entry (DDE) is utilized in this position, as is correcting rejected claims and resubmitting them.

Accomplishments: My previous employment had taught me to be accurate and very detail oriented. This skill helped me greatly with the account records keeping aspect of my current position. This has allowed me to be consistently among the top five Patient Account Specialists in the company.
