Objective

My objective is to become the Camp Rilea Command Sergeant Major. I recently served as the 41 Brigade Command Sergeant Major since 15-May-2008 though 01-Nov-2009.  


Work Experience

41 IBCT Brigade Command Sergeant Major (05/15/2007 – 11/04/2009)

I served as the 41 IBCT Brigade Command Sergeant Major.

Responsibilities: Served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the 41 Brigade Commander. Advised BDE Commander on morale and welfare issues, Senior mentor for NCO Corps within BDE, tracked NCOER/4100, tracked and managed NCOES for BDE, assisted with AGR management, conducted census with Soldiers from BNs and advised Commanders and CSMs on concerns and issues from Soldiers, directly managed 1SG and MSG career paths, worked with FRG programs to assist and support Families, and prepared, trained and deployed the 41 IBCT to Iraq.

Accomplishments: 1. Brought the BDE to zero NOVAL pay for the first time in history. 2. Had the best record in the State for insuring that all NCOER's and 4100 were turned in on time. 3. Prepared the BDE for deployment with multiple train-up periods. 4. Deployed the BDE to Iraq in July 2009. 5. Established foot print in Iraq in Tallil, Scania, Baghdad, Al Asad, Korean Village, and Joint Base Balad.

Intelligence Analyst  (09/03/1993 – 05/14/2007)

Intelligence Analyst for the Oregon National Guard Counterdrug Program.

Responsibilities: Worked as an Intelligence Analyst for multiple Narcotics Divisions across the State of Oregon. Directly worked with Law enforcement on Narcotics cases, consolidated monthly, quarterly, yearly statistics for Law Enforcement and Military tracking, conducted controlled narcotics buys, buy/bust, identified and eradicated outdoor marijuana grows, and conducted search warrants around the State of Oregon.

Accomplishments: 1.Established myself a trustworthy partner with local, county, state and federal law enforcement detectives. 2. Met all suspense's and deadlines. 3. Proved to be proficient in managing a multitude of task at once while managing my military career at the same time. 4. Established the first Gang control programs in Umatilla and Morrow County.

M1A1 Armor Crewman (05/20/1987 – 07/07/1991)

M1A1 Armor Crewman "Gunner" on our Platoon Sergeants Tank on active duty.

Responsibilities: Deployed to Desert Shield/Storm from Oct 1990 to Apr 1991. Assigned to Platoon Sergeant Tank, directly supervised two individuals and insure our tank was mission capable and ready at all times. Acted as Tank Commander when Platoon Sergeant was away.

Accomplishments: 1. Completed PLDC and was promoted to E-5 in less than four years of service. 2. Was chosen to be the Platoon Sergeant's crew member during my whole career based on my discipline and integrity.

3-116 CAV AR 82 BDE, E-5 to E-7 (07/08/1991 – 04/01/2002)

Served as an M1A1 Crewman in 3-116.

Responsibilities: Platoon Sergeant for a 16 man platoon on M1A1 Tanks. Insure all time lines and maintenance "PMCS" was conducted on tanks, equipment and TA50.

Accomplishments: Selected as a Platoon Sergeant for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

1SG E Troop 1-82 CAV 82 BDE (04/02/2002 – 10/01/2003)

As the Troop 1SG I insured all NCOERs, 4100, and counseling was being conducted in a timely manner.

Responsibilities: Responsible to insure that information was passed down to the Platoon Sergeants and insured that the Commanders Intent was met at all times.

Accomplishments: 1. Strength was at 110 percent. 2. Stepped out of my comfort zone and became a 1SG for a Scout Troop which I had no experience and was very successful.

Details: I fast tracked my degree program and completed it in 2 years and 8 months. This was done while I prepared the 41 IBCT for deployment to Iraq. Even though I was sent home medically I continued to work through my degree while having two surgeries.
