Objective
The workplace is a major part of one's life. Therefore, it should be an experience that provides the employee with the sense of accomplishing set company goals and learning more of the industry. This should be done in a positive manner. If an employee feels good about his work, it will make the other parts of his life better. Happy employees make a stronger company. Happy employeees make the customer's shopping experience more enjoyable.
I would like to be part of helping managers meet company goals while understanding how the food industry works. I have a working knowledge of each dept. in a grocery store . My career has grown from small stores to the larger supermarkets of today. I know what the job requires and how to get goals accomplished.

Responsibilities: oversee the floral, gift, and candy areas of the store.....schedule the help, order the product, provide monthly inventory numbers, and service the customer. This is a very hands on job which I enjoy.
Floral / Video Supervisor (05/12/1985 – 01/01/2002)
Last Employer: Mele Management Inc
Responsibilities: This job oversaw the floral and video depts. in 3 Shop N Saves and a Foodland Supermarket. This position included ordering for the floral and video, merchandising, scheduling the personnel, providing inventory information and planning sales. My other duties included reconciling invoices with statements, identifying shrink, and monitoring gross profits.
Trainee (06/01/1970 – 05/12/1985)
Helped run a small family business consisting of 3 small grocery stores. I worked in every department of the store. My duties included hiring people, scheduling the front end, balancing cashier tills along with the main office, making deposits and paying the invoices from many vendors. I have experience in each dept. of the grocery store.

Additional Information
In 2005 I was President of the Giant Oaks Garden Club. This is a national organization that has a focus on gardening and fund raising for the local community. Also I have volunteered at Canonsburg Hospital as the Candy Striper coordinator and short order cook.
Honors: Our stores received many awards over the years.
Interests
My husband and I are avid hikers. We hike in Pa. WVa. and out west. Our favorite place to hike is the canyons of Escalante, Utah. We have also hiked the Grand Canyon a number of times. We have traveled outside the US a few times. We also enjoy museums. Gardening is also on the list of interests.
