Grocery/Stocking/Customer Service (06/08/2008 – Present)

I work on filling shelves, giving customer service, unloading trucks, facing product, Making labels and flags for product, and have quiet a bit of experience in general merchandise. The job is very physically demanding and requires a lot of thinking, which I like.

Responsibilities: I work on getting a lot of stock out in a short period of time working by myself. Which includes frozen foods, dairy products, and dry grocery. I have to do a great job on recovering the store to make it look good for the next day. I have to help customers with great knowledge on the products and where things are located. I have to teach and guide people to do what has to be done. I also have to make sure that the temperatures in the freezer and cooler are well maintained and properly recorded. I have to rotate the stock to make sure products don't expire. I also have to lift a lot of heavy things for people and have to keep the store and back room very clean and organized. I also am responsible for doing inventory when it is time to and I am trusted to get the exact number of products left in the store. Shop-lifting is also a huge concern in our store, so I also have to watch and ask them questions if necessary.

Accomplishments: I have earned myself the weekend head because of the quality of my work. I work at 5am on Saturday and at 8am on Sunday. I work mainly on frozen on the weekend doing 5 or more skids independently. I have completely turned frozen around which earned me a award. I earned the respect of my boss and store manager leading them to count on me when they need something done right and quick. They have told me many times that I am one of the best worker there and they enjoy working with me.

Cleaning/Grocery (06/22/2007 – 09/03/2007)

I was hired for the summer at 14 to clean the huge basement of the store where all of the stock and everything was stored, which was a huge mess. I did it in about a month and was switched into grocery because the manager like how hard working I am and wanted me to help out on the floor, even though I was so young.

Responsibilities: I had to work independently to clean a whole basement which is the same size of the store which was a huge mess. I had 3 months to do it, and I did it in about 1 month to get everything clean and organized. I was switched into grocery and started out by helping out the employees, but then I was trusted to work alone doing a whole department alone at the age of 14. I had to do what I do now

Accomplishments: I gained the respect of the workers and managers and became their friends. I got work done in more then double the time asked of me. I got onto the staff for my hardworking, focused attitude.

Details: I am still in high school and i will complete it in 2012, then I am planning on working for the Winnipeg Police or the RCMP, or on going to school in order to become a mechanic
