Welder/Fabricator/Team leader (10/03/2005 – Present)

Working for a sheet metal manufacturing company who builds and installs numerous different pieces of equipment, fabricated from metals such as steel, aluminium and stainless steel. We service many industrial plants and also build units for oilfield service companies. We also do many installs of stainless steels counter tops in businesses and commercial kitchens. I am a ticketed welder and also a team leader for some of the units that we build working with upwards of 6 people in my team at any given time. Also I am one of the safety officers for our division

Responsibilities: Welding, fabricating and installing various products. Leading a team in fabrication of aluminum cabins. Safety officer for the shop.

Accomplishments: Every product that we put out is an accomplishment for us. But to put out a good quality product that gets comments and compliments is my key. Fabbed and installed s/s counter tops in customers kitchens at their residences - multiple times. Lead a team building Aluminium sand end dump trailers for the oilfield - put out 12 units in a year and a half. Lead teams building multiple aluminum cabins for the oilfield service industry - over 5o cabins built in 5 years.

Sheet metal instructor (04/07/2008 – Present)

Working as a part time sheet metal instructor at the local college. Teaching sheet metal to students taking an 8 week introduction to the trades course. In this time I teach 5 - 4 hour classes.

Responsibilities: Instructing students on proper practices in fabricating products from sheet metal. Teaching them to build simple sheet metal products using the equipment that is available in the metal shop. Instructing on basic mathematics, measurements, proper use of layout tools and safe use of the equipment.

Accomplishments: The kids come and go but I am gradually learning how to teach people more effectively - to communicate the formulas in my mind into realities as the students start to put out decent products.

As an elder my responsibilities were primarily to look after the members of the church, to shepherd them well. To contend for sound doctrine, to preach, also to collectively take care of the organizational issues that would arise.
