Objective
I am interested in a teaching position, working with children with special needs. My experience in my work as an Occasional Teacher and previously as a swimming instructor has given me the skills, abilities and training to work with children of all abilities. I am looking for experiences that will enhance these skills, abilities and training.
Work Experience
Head Lifeguard/ Instructor/Instructor Trainer (01/15/1990 – 04/15/2005)
I worked as a water safety instructor, head lifeguard and instructor trainer. I worked with children and adults of all abilities.

Responsibilities: As a head lifeguard I was responsible for the staff and patrons of the pool during my shifts. As an instructor I was responsible for the planning and teaching of different levels in the Red Cross and Lifesaving Society's swim programs. As an instructor trainer I was responsible for the training of future swimming instructors for both societies.
Accomplishments: I worked in almost every part of the building in the 15 years at the Canada Games Complex. I took on every challenge and finished off my experiences there working on the Maintenance Staff and Front Desk Staff as well.
Occasional Teacher (09/29/2005 – Present)
I have worked as an occasional teacher for the past 5 years. During this time I have held 2 Long Term Occasional contracts and I have worked extensively in classrooms geared to the needs of children with special abilities.

Responsibilities: I am currently teaching in a full year Long Term Occasional (LTO) Contract at Our Lady of Charity school. I am responsible for the daily planning and teaching of the Core French program for Grade 4-6.
Accomplishments: Completed my first LTO with a successful evaluation and truly enjoyed working with the students and staff. Currently in a second LTO and enjoying the new challenge of teaching French. I hold Additional Qualifications in Special Education (Part 1) and Religious Education (Specialist Part III).
