Objective

I am currently seeking a position within the environmental science/consulting field while I complete my college degree.  I have experience in field research and writing reports. I have a vast working knowledge of many aspects of flora and fauna as well. In addition I have experience in customer service. I am  currently obtaining my bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and will be graduating in May 2012.  I am hard working and do my best with every task presented to me. I most recently worked as a bank teller assisting customers in all aspects of banking from deposits, loan payments, online banking, etc. I have extensive customer service skills, computer skills as well as word processing. I have also done extensive filing, assisting customers over the phone and directing phone calls.

Details: I'm currently obtaining a B.A. in Environmental Studies and will be graduating in May 2012. I have coursework in urban agriculture and green planning and designing, including community service and field trips to KCCUA. I particularly have an interest in the geology and water sustainability fields. I have experience in field study and research as well as water quality testing and soil identification.

Skills

Practical experience with field work and research, and working outdoors. I have excellent computer skills, as well as good communication skills, written and verbal. I have a good working knowledge of practical field work such as water quality testing and geological field work.

Computer Skills: Word Processing and a good knowledge of computer functions, such as powerpoint, microsoft word and excel. I also type over 30 words per minute.

Foreign Language Skills: German

Additional Information

I am hard- working and enthusiastic, passionate for the environment and the betterment of it as well. Able to perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner and take direction well. I enjoy working independently as well as being part of a team. I enjoy a challenge I am comfortable meeting and talking to new people as well. I am comfortable in the office as well as out in the field.

Honors: 4-H awards from the ages of 8-19 years old.

Research Projects: Semester long project of designing and creating an urban organic farm. I am currently working on my senior project; an extensive research paper and presentation on preservation and restoration of the heartland, more specifically the tallgrass prairies and its flora and fauna.

Interests

I enjoy spending time outdoors, my passion is riding and showing my horses, hiking with my dogs and volunteering with ACTHA, a nationwide equine association. I also belong to the following equine associations: USEF, AHA, EKAHA, and GKCAHA. I also belong to the Kansas Wildlife Federation, and have done volunteer work with No More Homeless Pets KC (now known as Heartland SPCA). I also enjoy gardening and reading.
