Last Employer: Sutter Memorial Hospital

Contact Person: Karlene Morris 916-733-1960

Responsibilities: I would greet people at the counter, answer questions, direct visitors to patients' rooms, answer phones and call lights. I would transcribe the Doctors orders in the computer and then onto a MAR and Kardex. I worked close with the Dr's and nurses to make sure that the orders were done correctly and that the nurse's had the new orders right away. I would fill out different consent forms. I kept the front desk clean at all times. I would fax and make copies when it was needed. I would also keep in contact with other departments to ensure that procedures and surgeries were on time. I also wrote out staffing sheets and charge nurse sheets.

Accomplishments: My nurse manager had me do extra things for the floor. I was on a team for 2 years that designed the new computer program for our hospital called SHIPER that was a new ordering system and new way to find and print H&P's, lab results, lab trends, radiology reports and any other information for the charts. I was a key user for our floor that would train the Doctors and the nursing staff on new computer equipment or programs that came out including the new time clock program Kronos. I was a service excellence adviser for several years. There were 2 people from each department and we would train 3 of our different hospitals on how to give better customer service and how to be the best employee we could be for our company. I trained all the new staff that were On-Call/Per Diem and the new staff for our department.
