Work Experience

School Counsellor (10/24/2008 – Present)

Work with students ages 5-16 with a variety of areas including addiction, family dynamics, and integrational areas. Current caseload of 35 students that I provide individual therapy sessions as well as group facilitation.

Accomplishments: -I have been working in the school enviroment for the past 2 years and the daily situations are never predictable and along with all my formal training as well as with my hands on experience.

Addictions Counsellor (03/06/2006 – 10/24/2008)

Worked with a caseload of 25 adults along with families that were involved with children services as I was also the band designate. Worked on multiple addiction issues and referring clients to treatment and also working on aftercare programs with clients once they returned home

Responsibilities: Worked as the NNADAP/Addictions counsellor for two years along with doing the probation and parole component. I went on maternity leave with my son and when I returned from that leave I transferred to the school and the band funds my position at the school.

Family Counsellor (01/05/2004 – 04/03/2006)

-Worked in a private setting and offered a number of services to a wide range of different issues and populations. Exhibited the ability to do multiple tasks at one time along with maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. -Worked as a team member with the Provincial court of alberta. -Sat on the northern alberta addictions board

Responsibilities: -Working with counselling families -Acting as a liasion between families and children services -Advocated for clients in court -Did mediation training and did couple and family mediation. -Referred clients for residential treatment and worked with treatment centres

Accomplishments: While working with NCSA I was able to attend sessions and training in the field of addictions. I also developed a program which was a community outreach program to other rural areas. I would go to Conklin,Janvier,Anzac,and Fort McKay two times a month to offer our services and it was very successful.

Details: I obtained a diploma in Rehabilitation services while having my major focus on Psychology and have also taken extra psychology and assessment courses.


I am a very friendly person and able to adapt to changing situations and very organized.

Computer Skills: I am proficient in my computer skills.

Foreign Language Skills: I speak english and am starting to speak little cree and starting to understand more as my husband is cree and has started talking it a bit so my kids will know there other language.

I enjoy spending my free time in the outdoors especially camping and boating. I am involved in the community and have my child in native dancing. My daughter is a jingle dancer and I support her. I love being by water thats why Lac La Biche and its beauty is so enjoyable.
