Objective
Professional position within a maritime company that will benefit from my experience working offshore and knowledge of the maritime industry, including my degree from Texas A&M. Seeking a job where I can utilize my experience as a mate and have the opportunity to advance ranks with captain opportunities. Would also love the opportunity to gain my DP certification and work on a DP vessel.
Work Experience
Chief Mate (12/01/2008 – Present)
Gained extensive experience handling administration duties, boat handling, navigation, 4 point anchor experience, drilling operations and core sampling knowledge, working in third world countries and leading a deck crew, good with NS5. Worked in the Gulf of Mexico, Peru, Panama Canal, Alaska, California, Washington; these experiences working in different places have played an integral part in developing myself as a mariner.
Last Employer: Fugro Mcclelland Geosciences
Responsibilities: Chief mate on a 190ft research vessel (R/V Seaprobe). Safe navigation of the vessel, directing deck crews in safe handling of cargo, everything safety related, inspections of all safety equipment on-board. In addition, extensive administration and computer/paperwork duties.
Accomplishments: With the sea-time I (have) gained on the Seaprobe I was able to advance my license.
1st Mate (05/01/2008 – 12/01/2008)
1st Mate on various ship-assist tug-boats in the Houston ship channel. Gained extensive experience handling small vessels and assisting larger ships.

Responsibilities: Safe navigation of the vessel in the Houston ship channel and sorrounding areas. Handling routine ship assist jobs and general tug-boat duties.
Third Mate (09/01/2007 – 05/01/2008)
Third Mate on a 400ft Roll-on roll-off ship that carried Boeing rockets for Nasa.
Last Employer: Gulf Caribe Maritime
Responsibilities: As the third officer I was in charge of anything and everything safety related. Inspected all safety equipment and was in charge of the safe navigation of the vessel, directing the crew on safety related activities as well as general third officer duties such as watch standing, cargo ops and mooring operations.

Computer Skills: Exceptional computer related skills. Anything computer, from basic typing to repair, I can do it all. Have extensive experience with NS5.
Additional Information
Certifications or Licensures: USCG Officer Third Mate Unlimited, 1600 ton Master, 2nd mate unlimited. Have all STCW certifications, first aid, water survival, etc. TWIC card.
Study Abroad: Have worked in several third world countries, including Peru, Mexico, Panama, Chilli. Have sailed across the Atlantic to Ireland, England and have even crossed the Bering sea and worked in Nome Alaska. Worked in San Francisco, California and the Gulf as well.
