Operation and maintenance of plasic injection molding and micromolding machines, as well as manual plastic injection molding machines. Use of computer systems to check inventory as well as inputting inspection results. Use of microscopes, toolscopes, calipers, and other measuring and order-specific quality inspection tools. Use of scanner for inventory. Use of label maker.

Responsibilities: Responsible for maintenance and operation of machines in the clean room, on the floor, and in the micromold room. Also responsible for checking for quality of the parts that come out of the machines before they are packed and shipped out to customers.
Accomplishments: Moved up from the original floor to manuals, then the clean room, and finally the locked micromold room. Also worked 48 hours or more each week voluntarily.
Machine Operator/Inspector (02/21/2007 – 03/16/2010)
Operation and occasional maintenance of large German-made machines that produce envelopes. Use of pallet jacks. Filled out paperwork daily to record quality, inventory of products ready to be shipped, and maintenance of the machine. Use of machine that wraps plastic around the pallet before it gets sent to shipping.

Accomplishments: Worked lots of overtime for this company working the twelve hour shift for two and a half years.

Use of power tools to produce sliding patio door products. Use of CNC machine to create holes for locks, handles, and hinges for the swinging patio door.

Additional Information
I have gone to college at DMACC, but only completed a semester. I am planning to attend this fall for the Biotechnology program. I haven't created my schedule yet, so I am available for either first or second shift.

Interests
I like to give to the community. My involvement includes donating to Big Brothers and Sisters of Iowa and the Young Women's Resource Center, through the United Way. I have also volunteered almost every year for the last ten years at Chuck's Restaurant on Thanksgiving day, to help feed the homeless and less fortunate. I have a great interest in music and attend many musical festivals in Des Moines.
