Responsibilities: -Bill Mediciad room and board and coinsurance for six Massachusetts skilled nursing facilities -Post and reconciling remittance adivce payments within 3 days of receipt -Keep abreast of Medicaid pending residents and billing when approved -Work past due accounts to reach AR goals for each facility -Work cooperatively with facility to make sure necessary information is obtained for billing purposes -Update and maintain Deferral file for 16 Massachusetts facilities, inputing updates from the FBOC's and adding deferral dollars when appropriate -Sit in on deferral calls when manager is unable to attend -Act as team leader for Medicaid Department, initiating inservices when required, working projects designated by manager, Executive Director, etc.
Accomplishments: -Since being hired with Golden Living, I have received two promotions in 4 years time -I was instrumental in helping to organize the roll-out of Massachusetts new billing system, MMIS. I informed team member's and manager of upcoming changes, eLearning, etc. -I was given the opportunity to learn the deferral file and maintain notes, dollars, etc. I now am able to sit on the call when needed and make updates when necessary. -I organized an inservice for the Insurance staff teaching them how to use MMIS to check coding and MMQ for a resident.
