Accomplishments: • Provide direction and leadership and mentoring of maintenance staff for the enhancement of their skills. • At Evraz, I have enhance the maintenance department by providing direction and leadership to reduce a backlog work orders that, increase safety, minimize costly breakdowns and unplanned shutdowns, identify impending problems and apply solutions, avoid major problems before they become catastrophic failures. • Recognize and implement best practice approach for equipment maintenance that can be measured directly by and indirectly. At Evraz, I utilize stands and best practices for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment • Continuously develop and implement strategies for improving maintenance and operation strategies for plant equipment. This includes condition assessments, monitoring, equipment inspections, test, and analysis of data. • Provide technical and economic analysis capabilities to assist in a decision process in upgrading equipment. While at SaskPower PRPS I designed and replaced stock feeder drive systems at a total cost of $36K when the OEM solution was in excess of $120K. • Hands on working maintenance knowledge of plant switchgear and power systems including; breakers, boards, relays, transformers, motors and other electrical equipment. In numerous Evraz plant site I have replaced main switchgear and substations from 13.8KV, 25kV and 480V distribution. • Utilize condition analysis techniques and failure analysis to avoid unplanned catastrophic equipment failures and replacement of equipment. Examples include implementing thermal imaging of electrical equipment and vibration analysis for pumps and motors. • Recognizing the unique difference in the age and condition of power plant equipment and identify technological changes and innovations for plant use to aid in condition assessment and risk management. • Utilize engineering forensics techniques for investigating equipment failures and determining root cause analysis. Upon identifying of the root cause, develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies to prevent equipment damage.
