My objective is to land the General Manager position at Gentle Bens. I am well trained for this job, with a healthy knowledge of the inner workings of a bar/restaurant. Dealing with a large staff is a expertise of mine. Keeping labor costs and insuring that theft is kept to ZERO are areas that I excel at. Poker Room Manager (07/05/2007 – 04/06/2010)
Ran first legal, then Underground Poker Room here in Tucson.

Responsibilities: First hired as Dealer, then moved after two months to Manager. In charge of the daily operations of running Club Royale. Did all hiring, firing, training, scheduling of staff, ran all monetary transactions, and handled all theft control.
Accomplishments: Turned Club Royale around after being promoted. Found that staff was stealing and implemented measures to insure profitability.
Bar Manager (12/01/1995 – 10/01/1998)
Worked directly with Scott and Brian Cummings at O'Malleys

Responsibilities: Started as Bartender, but moved up to Bar Manager at the busiest college bar in town. In charge of the bartenders, theft control, and all opening and closing duties. Also oversaw large food service staff, and door staff.
Accomplishments: Worked with The Cummings in putting together various promotions and enjoyed watching O'Malley's grow and thrive.
Bartender (01/06/2005 – 01/04/2007)
Worked as bartender for Janos Wilder in his J-Bar and Janos restaurant.

Responsibilities: In charge of the daily duties of setting up and maintaining busy bar top at J-Bar, serving guests food and drink, and all payment transactions. Also worked in Janos, which is the formal side of the two restaurants, servicing the waitstaff, and handling all waitstaff tip outs.
Accomplishments: Took this job after ceasing to work in Food Service Industry back in 2003, while my son finished high school.
General Manager (10/06/1998 – 05/04/2001)
General Manager for the largest club in Arizona.

Responsibilities: Ran all aspects, except booking of talent for the largest Club in Arizona. Hired and fired all Managers, trained all managers, designed and implemented promotions, handled all monies, implemented theft control measures at Front Door, behind bar, and in kitchen.
Accomplishments: Implemented the Battle of The Bands, which ran for two years, and netted the Club over $60,000 per year. Also implemented College Night, which ran for one year, and Sunday Boogie Nites, which netted the Club over $12,000 per week for 18 months!! I left this job when my oldest son started high school in Tucson and I could no longer effectively work in Scottsdale and live in Tucson.
General Manager (08/02/2003 – 08/05/1995)
Worked as General Manager for the largest Club in Tucson. worked with Luke Cusack in building a successful nightclub.

Responsibilities: Ran very large Bar Staff, with all training, hiring, firing and theft control. Also worked with Door Manager and Cashier Manager to insure that all Departments ran smoothly. Consulted with hands on owner, Luke, who oversaw all functions of Club. Ran bar promotions and instituted control methods to stop employee and Manager theft.
Accomplishments: I had a very successful two years at The Outback. I worked with Arizona Beverage to set up a Saturday Nite campaign that drew HUGE crowds, and Luke and I started the Two for Tuesday Night with KLPX.

I am skilled in Theft Control, labor costs, and employee communication. I can design, step up and run very successful promotions. I get along with all different types of personalities and I have taken all Liquor training courses up thru 2007.
Computer Skills: I am proficient on the computer, with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint training.
Foreign Language Skills: I can speak enough Spanish to motivate the Kitchen employees, that is my extent of foreign language.
Additional Information
Hiring me for the position of General Manager at Gentle Bens would be the smartest thing that you could do. I am once again able to work in the liquor industry and I have made a positive impact at every place I have worked before. Running a large bar/nightclub is what I excel at and handling the day to day operations, while keeping all costs down is my speciality.
Interests
I have coached soccer in AYSO Region 206 for 10 years and I truely enjoy it. This runs from August thru December, and I dedicate 4 hours per week to this endeavor.
